Badrinath – Abode of Lord Vishnu | Char Dham Yatra Guide

The final leg of my journey led me to Badrinath, seated majestically by the Alaknanda River. The colorful temple, surrounded by snow peaks, fills the heart with serenity.

Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is said to have meditated here in penance. The temple, nestled between the Nar and Narayan mountains, symbolizes salvation and spiritual wisdom. Pilgrims believe that a darshan of Badri Vishalopens the path to moksha and eternal bliss.

  • By Air: Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (317 km).

  • By Train: Rishikesh Railway Station (295 km).

  • By Road: Well connected to Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Joshimath. Buses and shared taxis are common.

  • GMVN Guest Houses (Joshimath & Badrinath).

  • Dharamshalas & Ashrams near the temple.

  • Affordable hotels in Joshimath (better facilities than Badrinath).

From Yamunotri, my journey carried me to  Gangotri , the source of the holy Ganges. The sound of the river echoes like a mantra, and the temple town feels alive with devotion. 🕉 Spiritual Importance: Gangotri is dedicated to  Goddess Ganga , the mother of mankind. According to legend, Lord Shiva released the mighty Ganga from his matted locks here, allowing her descent to Earth.
